Ministry of Tourism opens cultural, tourism and sports Fair at Morodok Techo National Stadium

PHNOM PENH: The Culture, Tourism and Sports Fair had been officially opened on the 6th April 2022 under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister Thong Khon with Timor-Leste Ambassador to Cambodia Ermeneglido Kupa Lopes at Morodok Techo National Stadium.

The exhibition is organized for 5 days from 6-10 April 2022. The purpose is to celebrate the Khmer New Year, promote the traditional culture, local food and inspire local tourism products.

Minister Thong Khon said that through this event, Morodok Techo National Stadium will be a new tourist destination in an area that has the potential to attract tourists and will also be the venue for the SEA Games for the upcoming 2023.

The representative from KHBMedia that co-organized the exhibition, Ms Boranich, also said that the event has a program of Khmer cultural costumes accompanied by Khmer New Year songs, Khmer traditional songs and social media TikTok Awards, TikTok Party and the first TikTok Charity in Cambodia. The TikTok idols will compete to win the TikTok Award 2022 and help to raise funds to donate to Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital.

The event also features local and general product exhibitions, tourism, education, cultural, financial and real estate, motor vehicle and sports stalls with a total of nearly 300 booths.

Taking this opportunity, Minister Thong Khon called on and reminded the sub-national administration and the private sector in the tourism sector to promote and implement the measures of the Royal Government, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism to prevent, protect and maintain safety to provide confidence and warmth for tourists travelling in Cambodia contribute to promoting "Cambodia as a safe and warm tourist destination."

With last night being the opening night over 2000 people had attended, for the opening, the younger crowd danced with their TikTok idols with traditional dancing. With people eating and tasting the local food with lots of seating in the area.

At 650 pm there were spectacular fireworks to get you ready for EDM to finish off your night. The event is for all ages to show off their talents in dancing, singing, TikToking and enjoy the entertainment.
